El impuesto se puede pagar a través del canal on-line, por teléfono o en puntos de venta en zonas clave antes de entrar en el Reino Unido.
Como ya sabíamos, el Reino Unido introduce a partir del 1 de Abril un nuevo impuesto para los transportistas extranjeros con vehículos de 12 Tn o más de MMA que utilicen la red de carreteras públicas.
El impuesto se ha fijado de acuerdo con la legislación de la UE, la tarifa de pagará en función del peso del vehículo y la configuración de los ejes del mismo.
Multas y sanciones:
El sistema generará una base de datos que permitirá a las autoridades identificar y tomar medidas sobre los transportistas que no hayan pagado.
Habrá un sistema automático de reconocimientos de matrículas, los registros de los ferrys y otras comprobaciones que alertarán a las fuerzas del orden cuando llegue el camión al Reino Unido.
La multa, de un único importe, es de 300 Libras (366€) y en caso de no ser abonada en el momento se procederá a la inmovilización del vehículo.
Registro de vehículos
Los empresarios con menos de 50 vehículos pueden registrarse on-line en la web de Northgate Public Services (que es quién se ha adjudicado el contrato para desarrollar y gestionar el sistema de pago de operadores extranjeros).
